I’ve decided to be a little bit more personable on my own website, and show a little slice of my life to you every once in a while! Events and news updates can be boring every once in a while, and I’m always on the lookout to see what tools my favorite artists use.
So, I present to you, my new illustration desk!
It’s an architect’s drafting table, but it does the job for cartoons and illustrations very nicely. I like the slope of it, and the fact that there are little places to put your inks and pens – I’m so happy with it! On the board there, even if it’s not visible, is my next project, which is an animation about two wolves (still in its early stages of development). It will be a 3D animation with 2D elements, in collaboration with Matt Kaemmerer, who is a fabulous animator, but I’m completely and totally biased. :)
Check back soon for updates on the animation, and in the meantime, I will entertain you with pictures of my cat.
"Remember to store your cat out of direct sunlight lest its color fade."
Have I a treat for you! I have started an Austin-based comic group called Koumori Comics, now accessible through our fabulous new Meetup.com site! “Koumori” means “bat” in Japanese, and as such, we are striving to represent the short-story writers, illustrators, and cartoonists of Austin, the bat city! If you are interested in comics and want to get to know our group better, feel free to join and sign up for a meeting!
My website update is almost complete – I’m planning on adding a “Sketches” section to the Illustration as well as working on the One-Shot comics section and finishing up the Store option.
Chels-E.com is getting a massive website overhaul – I’m switching from Dreamweaver to WordPress to ease the burden of updating this monster every week-ish. New features shall include:
the ability to follow me/possibly join a mailing list for various updates
the Chels-E Store!
Hopefully a slideshow version of my portfolio
..aaand links to the various comics I work on.
So stay tuned! If you’d like to contact me in the meantime, please do so via deviantArt or via Twitter.
